This Audi S4 is rocking a fully custom paint job, having an incredible amount of bright metallic flake and depth - this paint shifts colors based on where you are and the surrounding lighting conditions. The owner wanted to improve this custom paintjob and protect it for years to come - so he chose CQuartz Finest Reserve.

THE INSPECTION
One of the most important parts of any detail is understanding what we are working with; all the small details matter. Prior to commencing any work, we thoroughly inspected and documented this Audi S4 with both written notes and hundreds of photographs in order to genuinely understand its unique needs.
Our inspection resulted in a few key findings that would affect how we approach the restorative portion of the detail. Some of these findings included:

Paint Protection Film Concerns - The clear bra on this car had a few key areas of concern, including some lighting edges, small bubbles, and a simple lack of optical clarity. However, it is stil providing vital protection against harmful rock chips!

Sanding Marks - As this was a fully custom paint job, it's not uncommon to see a considerable amount of sanding marks littered across the vehicle. There were a few key areas with heavier damage, and some entire panels with light sanding marks remaining across it's entirety.

Ceramic Coating Issues - A previously installed ceramic coating - but not properly installed - left high spots and streaks across the vehicle that we would remove prior to applying our own professional-grade ceramic coating.
Our documentation is thorough, as it should be. We complete both analog and digital inspection forms, take hundreds of photos, and compile this information into a 6+ page document that will be provided to the owner of the vehicle after the service.
The wash is followed by chemically decontaminating the paint - this safe method allows us to strip away tar, environmental fallout, and other contamination, which we followup with a claybar process where required to rid the vehicle of any remaining embedded grime.
By following this strict process, we know that the vehicle is perfectly clean before restoring the paint and removing the previously-found sanding marks, swirls and scratches.
INITIAL CLEANSING
WASH, DECON
The key to attaining incredible gloss and shine starts with properly and thoroughly cleansing the vehicle of dirt, grime, and contamination. This ensures that our paint polishing services won't further damage the paint.
Our first step includes our famous Essentials Wash process, which includes fully foaming the vehicle down before washing the paintwork safely and methodically.
REFINEMENT, AT IT'S FINEST.
PAINT CORRECTION
Whether it be new paint or old - making a surface "extra glossy" can only be achieved through paint polishing - the process of methodically removing swirls, scratches, and other paint defects that mask hidden gloss, shine, and paint depth. Our paint correction process includes utilizing the latest in innovative technology and our own proven techniques to refine the surface to the glossiest possible finish without sacrificing the integrity of the clear-coat like older technology can when in the wrong hands.
SWIRLS. SCRATCHES. EXTENSIVE SANDING MARKS. These were all found across this S4, and were refined from the surface(s) to reveal an incredible glossy, deep metallic finish. It's often shocking to our clients how much better we can even fresh paint look.
As the photos below show, we were able to extract an incredible amount of gloss from this paint that would help lead it to winning Best of Paint at Driven Saskatoon 2019.

CERAMIC COATING + SHORTWAVE IR CURING
Every component of our Finest Reserve service must be followed strictly. The owner of this custom Audi S4 desired nothing but the best to protect his custom ride - as such, CQuartz Finest Reserve was the only choice.
The entire vehicle was fully coated to provide YEARS of easy washing, incredible gloss and shine, and unparalleled protection that can last many years. The gloss levels, clarity, and depth in this incredible paintwork never looked better. Here is what we applied multiple layers of durable ceramic coating to:

Black trim - including every single vent, plastic inlets, and the entire front grill

Once coated, the entire vehicle underwent a curing process using out state-of-the-art Infratech Shortwave Infrared lamps. This ensures the coating is fully - and thoroughly - cured. Added durability, performance, and protective characteristics are a result from this.
Plus, it looks fantastic.
WHEEL-OFF DETAIL
Included with the CQuartz Finest Signature Service is a complete wheels-off detail with ceramic protection. This involves raising the vehicle on our 6,000lb rated vehicle lift and removing all the wheels so that we are able to properly clean and coat all surfaces. For this Audi S4, we performed the following steps:

Removal of all wheels, Deep Cleaning off-vehicle

Tar removal on wheels, wheel arches

Hand-cleaning and polishing brake calipers for a high gloss finish

CQuartz Fabric ceramic coating on all wheel arch fabrics

CQuartz DLUX ceramic coating on all wheel arch plastics

Easy washing, retention of a deep, rich black appearance for 2+ years

CQuartz Finest Reserve applied to brake calipers, full wheels

Ultimate protection for high gloss, 800f+ heat resistance and easy washing

Shortwave IR Infrared curing of all materials coated with Finest Reserve to ensure a thorough curing of the ceramic coatings for the best durability and performance.
With all coatings completed, we re-installed the wheels and torqued to factory specifications using our electronically-controlled Snap-On Torque Wrench which is accurate within 2%. Our clients safety is important to us, so we ensure we we only utilize the best tools and products.
